An Profound Picture

Have you ever watched water boil? I mean seriously watched it. Well, today, I did! That seem really silly, but I made Macaroni and Cheese for dinner, so I had to do it. As I stood there, suddenly I found an illustration of a truth.

When you boil water, it comes out lukewarm, maybe even cold, from the faucet. You pour a few cups of it into the pot, you turn on the stovetop and put the pot on. For a long while, it sits there and it looks like nothing's happening. Then, slowly, you can see little "ribbons" of bubbles swishing around in the bottom of it. These bubbles are super tiny. After a while longer, you see the water begin to simmer and the bubbles get bigger and bigger until, if you're not careful, the pot overflows!

So, what does this illustrate? When you read your Bible and spend time with God, it may seem like nothing is happening. A lot of people give up there, but if you hang on, after a while you can see teeny tiny, almost non-existant bubbles. Soon, your life begins to simmer and you begin to grow with Him. Before you know it, you're life is overflowing with Him! Isn't this a beautiful example of our lives?

Don't give up... Sooner or later, if you keep at it, your life will start to "boil".
